Born and raised on the west side of Chicago, I am a product of the Chicago Public School System.  Becoming a teacher was always in the back of my mind as I wanted to give back and help develop the neighborhood in which I was raised.  With math always being a favorite subject of mine, becoming a Mathematics Teacher as well as coming to ASA was an easy decision.  I have been at the Academy of Scholastic Achievement about eight years and enjoy working with students helping them gain a healthy respect for the subject of math.  In addition to teaching math, I work with seniors and other students as well to help prepare them for graduation and the transition into their post-secondary life.  Education is vital to the survival of a community.
