The Academy of Scholastic Achievement, Inc. (ASA), a Youth Connection Charter School Campus (YCCS), is a non-profit, public alternative high school committed to providing a quality education to high school dropouts and students who are disconnected from traditional public schools. Accredited by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), ASA is a member of the Alternative Schools Network (ASN) and an official Chicago Public Schools (CPS) charter.
We serve at-risk students, between the ages of 16 and 19, and we provide them with a holistic educational program rooted in academic rigor and personal and social development.
The ASA Difference
At the heart of ASA is our belief that every child can excel and every child deserves a quality education – no matter his or her social, economic or personal status. To that end, we have embraced a holistic, therapeutic approach. We work hard to develop students by accepting them where they are socially, intellectually and academically. We recognize that each student is coming to us with different learning styles and academic needs, so we have developed a performance-based academic program focused on student engagement, individualized instruction and culturally relevant material.
To compliment our educational services, ASA also offers counseling and social services to help students remove barriers to success and help them develop a strong sense of self.
Our Mission
To prepare students for the transition from one level of schooling to the next, to prepare them for the 21st century’s rapidly changing technological world and to help them achieve a higher quality of life.
Our Vision
To embrace the children who are “the least of these” and give them the opportunity to be successful adults, competing and succeeding in today’s world economy.
